Welcome to the Rising Store

A couple of years ago, a few friends came together to find a way to make a big impact in the world. We saw problems like the AIDS pandemic, children in sexual slavery, absolute poverty, systemic injustice, environmental degradation... and we wanted to do something to help. What we discovered was that we could accomplish more together than we ever could individually. By pooling our resources, we created a co-op of giving. Together, we used our different backgrounds and variety of skills to pinpoint places where our contributions would make the most substantial difference. What came out of this process was something truly unique: a holistic development strategy that not only helps those in poverty, but also attacks the roots of poverty.

We seek to treat the sick while removing the causes of their sickness. For example, sponsoring an AIDS orphan in Africa is both compassionate and loving, but unless we address the lack of knowledge about HIV/AIDS, the infrastructure of the community where the orphan lives, and the amount of available healthcare, we are not bringing about long-term change.

Over time, others have wanted to join our giving circle, and now it seems that our humble project is poised to become a movement. We call this movement RISE UP. How does it work? Every member gives a small monetary gift each month ($35). This seemingly tiny contribution becomes huge once it’s combined with everyone else’s. With new people “Rising Up” every day, it is easy to imagine the gifts being multiplied exponentially. Once everyone’s donations come together, the money is invested into five major developmental areas:

Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief
Indigenous Leadership Development
Spiritual Awakening
Justice Work and Advocacy
Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Living

Our world is broken, and sometimes we are overwhelmed. We wonder how we can make a difference. With RISE UP, each of us becomes part of something much larger than ourselves. We can have confidence that our gifts are being handled with great care and integrity.
